If you live within a one mile radius of the CTS plant site and you would like your drinking water well tested by the EPA you may download the following form. Print the form, fill it out, and mail it to the address at the top of the form. If you have no luck with the EPA on well testing, you can contact Buncombe County. See the contact info at the bottom of this page.

The form says the following:

Dear Resident, The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) would like to conduct routine, quarterly, sampling for your private well. EPA is undertaking this effort in order to ensure that there is no contamination in wells currently used for dri~ing water in your area. If you would like your well to be included in this regular monitoring program, please return the attached Well Sample Request form in the enclosed envelope, no later than January 12, 2009. This access form will serve as your agreement to allow EPA to regularly sample your well, until such time that the agency determines there is no longer a need to continue regular monitoring. EPA will assume that we can gain access to your well during the months of January, April, July and October for this regular monitoring program. The actual sampling will be conducted by our contractor and representatives of the Buncombe County Health Department. We will notifY you in advance with an estimated date for the sampling, but due to the large number of wells and our need to schedule in advance, we can no longer accommodate individual requests to be present for the actual sampling. Therefore, your well should to be accessible, without the need to enter your residence. If need be, we will install an exterior tap or spigot on the well head to facilitate sampling.
